Healthy Liverpool is a programme sponsored by the Liverpool CCG and delivered by the service solutions charity PSS and technology company Rescon. Healthy Liverpool aims to help identify high blood pressure in the City region whilst also educating people about the importance of blood pressure. It is estimated that there are around 40,000 people in Liverpool that have undiscovered high blood pressure. This is important as if picked up early there are a lot of things that can be done to decrease blood pressure and avoid potentially catastrophic life events such as stroke and heart attack.
Over the six months from mid April to mid October specialist PSS staff will set up blood pressure screening clinics around the city. Anyone can go along and get their blood pressure checked and have a chat about general health. Rescon will continue to build this website and other technology including Lincus, an easy to use website and companion app that allows people to track and improve their health over time (free downloads or registration at the links below). PSS, Rescon and the CCG will work together over the six months to maximise its benefit to the citizens of Liverpool.
